Confidentiality is an essential tenet of the psychotherapeutic relationship and creates a safe space in which the client can openly explore his/her treatment issues.  As such, all information discussed in our sessions is kept strictly confidential, with the following notable exceptions:

  • If mandated by law by means of court order
  • If the client expresses a clear and imminent danger/harm to themselves or to others
  • If there is any potential or clear physical/sexual abuse of minors/elders/persons with disabilities
  • In cases of medical emergencies
  • If client gives written consent to disclose information
  • Disclosure of information required by a managed care company for reimbursement
  • If accusations of misconduct are brought forward
